Description
Rhodogune of Parthia(?-131BC) was the daughter of Mithridates I of Parthia and Sister of Phraates II of Parthia. She is descriped as a woman of great beauty and confidence, her name is the latinized form of the Persian word ''Rozgun'' which means '' bright as daylight'' .
According to Polyaenus's notes , Rhodogune was informed of revolt while preparing for a bath, she vowed not to bathe or dress her hair again untill the revolt was neutralised. She immediately went to battle, riding out to head of the army, on her black/white Nisean horse and successfully led her army to victory. She was depicted after the battle with long disheveled what shows that she adhered to her vow.
